Dear brothers and sisters in Christ! In these difficult times, Christians around the world are praying for peace and victory, Ukrainians around the world are praying for relatives, friends and soldiers who are defending our homeland from the russian aggressor. The truth is ours – we are on our land, fighting against injustice, treachery and lies. And God is with us, because the invader, taking up arms, breeds violence, sorrow and destruction, and violates the Lord’s commandments. As it is written in the Holy Bible: “For all who draw the sword will die by the sword” (Matthew 26:52). War is terrible, it is grief, it is loss and pain. It is prayer that helps to overcome fear, anxiety, inspires hope, gives confidence, reinforces and strengthens. Whether it is a prayer from the Prayer Book, or a book of Psalms from the Bible, or a prayer in one’s own words, the most important thing is the sincerity and feelings with which we speak to God. Remember – the Church is with you! Come, because all the churches are open for you! Anyone who needs spiritual support is sure to find it! “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (Matthew 7:7-8)
