Every Saturday morning from 10am-12pm (continuing for as long as is needed):
\n– Distribution of food (perishable and non-perishable)
\n– CYM Sydney holding a social “Meet and Greet” downstairs with coffee and cakes
\n– Representatives from SSI and STARTTS attend to answer questions from displaced Ukrainians
\n– Regular information\/support sessions are held e.g. Financial literacy, Women’s Circle, English language classes<\/div>

Blue and Yellow Hearts is a charity clothing and essential items drive organised to help Ukrainian displaced people arriving in Sydney, Australia.

\nWe are set up in the Church Hall of the Intercession of The Holy Virgin Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 108 Arthur St corner of Mitchell Rd, Strathfield West. We are less than a 10 minute walk from Flemington Railway Station.

\nBlue and Yellow Hearts is one of many charity actions in Australia to help displaced people from Ukraine, coordinated by the Association of Ukrainian Communities of New South Wales.<\/div>

People wishing to make donations of clothing, toys and other items can take them into any of Vinnies’ 145+ Shops across Queensland and in return Vinnies has provided the Ukrainian Community of Queensland (UCQ) with Gift Cards to give out to the Ukrainian Displaced Persons (DPs) who have fled their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DPs requiring vouchers can come to the UCQ community centre during advertised (on FB and IG) open times each week – once their visa status is confirmed they’ll receive gift cards for Vinnies and Woolworths. DPs who cannot attend our community centre are able to email uchac@ukrqld.com.au<\/a> with necessary details and we post them gift cards.

WA DISTRIBUTION CENTRE FOR UKRAINIAN DP’S<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A “Distribution Centre” for essential supplies such as food and clothing for Ukrainian new arrivals was successfully trialled on Sunday, September 25 in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Australia & New Zealand, Saint Nicholas Parish of Perth, Western Australia, 2a Ferguson Street Maylands 6051.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inaugural distribution commenced immediately after liturgy and over 50 people attended this history making event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ukrainian Association of Western Australia would like to thank the Ukrainian Orthodox Community of WA Inc. for the use of the hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special thanks to Mike Struthers of RRT for the food hampers; Roma and Steve Popadynec who arranged donations of computers, rashies, and a multitude of creams, toiletries and clothes items, Snezhana Stacey, Natalia Sakalo, Wally Perzylo and Roma and Steve Popadynec for clothes items and most importantly to everyone who came and benefitted from this inaugural event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
